Kevin Feige Almost Left MCU over Lack of Diversity

Diversity has become a major buzz word over the last couple of years. Basically just mentioning the word is enough to cause digital fisticuffs. It’s causing divides within fandoms which isn’t a good thing. Well, a lack of diversity is the reason Kevin Feige, the head of the Marvel Cinematic Universe almost left. This is according to Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo. Apparently, the specifics were a lack of female-fronted superhero movies. That’s obviously going to change this year with the MCU’s Black Widow and the DCEU’s Wonder Woman 1984.

Since the first Avengers movie debuted inclusivity has improved in comic book movies. 2019 had Captain Marvel for example. In Phase Four Marvel will include its first LGBTQ+ superhero. If you’re interested in reading more about how Feige almost left the MCU you can do so here.
